Car history: |
2) It is a 1969 427 390hp with a 4 speed manual transmission. The engine has a hopped up cam and runs near perfectly. The interior is solid with no tears or rips. There is a very small crack in the center consol. There are no electrical problem, vacuum lights function as do the wipers. This is not a matching engine for this car. The frame is in great shape. The top (black) works great and only has a 3-4" tear in it low on the drivers side. Chrome is in very good shape, new emblems. The pictures tell the story. The car was originally daytona yellow and paint has only minor swirls and stress cracks. The side pipes sound great. 102,280 miles. December 3, 2008.
1) In 1968, the Corvette brochure said All different, All over. It should have said All different, All over, but wait till we get it right in 1969. In 1968 Chevrolet had many problems in quality control. The bad fit and finish, bad door mechanisms bad vacuum operations were all solved in 1969. This convertible sports a 427 390 hp with 4 speed manual transmission. The engine is strong and fast. The transmission is very tight with Hurst shifter. The factory side exhaust is not too loud but still announces that youre arriving. This is the last year that the factory side exhaust was offered. It has new brake calipers, brake lines and master cylinder. The tires are very good and are 50 series BFGs on American Racing Torque Thrust wheels. The car was originally Daytona Yellow with black interior. The current blue has some nicks but shows very well. The body and frame are fantastic. The top is in very good shape. The original bumpers are perfect. The interior is very good. Just two things to mention, the passenger head rest and center console have small cracks. These are reflected in the photos. When Chevrolet revamped their quality control in 1969, they did not screw around. The vacuum accessories all work great. The lights open and close with no problems as do the windshield wipers. The fiber optic system functions fine as do all the other electrical items. The car drives and stops straight. There is no smoking or leaking. 90,000 miles. June 4, 2008. |
